TINGNAN: Beach look, palm trees sa Manila Bay nakumpleto na ng DENR

Mistulang beach na ang Manila baywalk makaraang makumpleto ang paglalagay ng puting buhangin at palm trees.

Pinangunahan ni DENR Sec. Roy Cimatu ang pagtatanim ng puno ng niyog sa Manila Bay. Ayon sa kalihim, 60 puno ang itatanim sa kahabaan ng sikat na pasyalan pero, 10 lang muna ang itatanim na coconut trees.

Sinabi ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources na sinimulan na nila ang pagtatanim ng mature coconut palm trees sa baywalk sa Roxas Boulevard.

“This area has been planted with coconuts before. Subalit sa ginawang assessment ng ating field office, marami na ang mga naputol o namatay sa paglipas ng panahon,” lahad ni Cimatu.

“So we will undertake coconut planting today as part of our restoration and continuing rehabilitation of Manila Bay.”

“It will not only beautify the baywalk portion of the Manila Bay coastline. It will also serve as a living reminder of how much the coconut tree has contributed to our way of life.”
